Tata Kenya to partner John Deere

Tata Kenya has added distributorship of John Deere agricultural equipment to its growing list of businesses in East Africa.

US-based John Deere is the world’s largest agri-equipment company, and its product range in East Africa will include tractors, harvesters, ploughs, harrows, planters, balers, sprayers and other implements needed in the sugar, rice, cereal, tea, floriculture  and general farming sectors.

Tata Africa Holdings (Kenya) is  part of the Tata Group, India’s largest conglomerate with revenues in excess of $83 billion.     Best known for a strong-selling  line of Tata trucks, buses and pick-ups, Tata Kenya’s portfolio includes pharmaceuticals, IT consultancy, steel trading, chemicals, construction equipment and infrastructural development.

The partnership between Tata and John Deere now operates in 18 African countries.   Both companies champion development causes in their corporate ideology.
